Show Your Support for #TeamJohn and #TeamBrett

June 19, 2014

“Give me a chance and I’ll go for it!” shared Team Elim triathlon member John Wrenn. His excited words show that when the starting bell rings for this year’s Chicago Triathlon, Team Elim will be ready to go! Both Elim student Brett Sheridan and Elim adult John Wrenn will be competing in the 5K leg of the Sprint Triathlon. Brett and John will be rolling to the finish with their wheelchairs being pushed by Elim supporters.

Both are so excited to be participating in the event. John is one of Elim’s most active fitness program participants, many days spending over an hour out of his wheelchair on the exercise bike. John’s and Brett’s high fitness levels are sure to be an asset on this year’s Chicago triathlon team!

Team Elim TRI has a goal to send 2,000 inner-city HOPE Packs filled with school supplies to children in the Chicagoland area. All proceeds will go toward this goal! In fact, if Elim raises $22,000, an anonymous donor will match that amount with another $22,000. Help us meet this goal! Elim’s HOPE Packs program gives adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to assemble school supply kits for disadvantaged children in Chicago – and worldwide – while also providing Elim’s adults with hard-to-find, meaningful employment. Our adults love to serve others and find so much joy knowing their efforts will help a child succeed in school.
