Nicaragua Outreach Team Trip Blog – June 2014

Day 1 – June 16, 2014

I would like to begin by saying God is Good! We have been blessed to have the opportunities to help people in need and I really think that was the realization for today. Today our team was broken up into 2 teams to serve God. One half of our team went to a school to assist them with ideas on how to set up a special education program and the other half went to Tesoros to assist them with their students. I was in the team that went to Tesoros and it was truly a blessing! We were blessed to meet students and parents in need of guidance. We found as we worked that the parents and caregivers around Tesoros have an amazing bond. They rely on each other for support in so many ways and it felt like they were a big family. They sit and talk and are able to have good conversation while they wait for their children to finish their school day. They are able to give each other moral support and guidance as they all raise children with the special gifts that God has given them. I really think as I reflect on my day there that the parents have truly been blessed with each other.
