Eagles’ Wings 5K Soars Past Expectations

The 4th Annual Elim Eagles' Wings 5K hosted the over 600 participants, by far the most ever. We had the best weather we've ever seen, and we had so many people sign up that people were still entering as the 5K event kicked off. The course was absolutely packed with Elim families, staff members, and lots and lots of friends who believe in the work and ministry of Elim Christian Services. It was encouraging and thrilling to see everyone gathering together in support of the Elim community.
In total, we raised over $46,000, which was enough to fund the following and more:
- SMART Board for Elim's autism comprehensive education program for children
- Pool Hoyer Lift (for liftying children into and out of wheelchairs and into the pool)
- Palos Heights campus security cameras
- Recreational arcade game for the Adult Services program
- 4 iPads for the Assistive Technology program in our school
- 98 stackable chairs to replace old, cracked ones in the Adult Services program
- A replacement iMac for the Adult Services program
- 5 personal computers for our "Crossroads" Computer and Office Readiness Education (CORE) program
