Christmas

Alex is a good example of what a difference you can make …

Since Elim began 70 years ago, caring friends like you have helped thousands of children and adults reach their God-given potential. On his first day of preschool, Alex slipped out of class. It wasn’t the teachers fault. But Chicago police found the four-year-old boy with autism more than a mile away. He had run across at least one busy street all by himself!

This was the beginning of nine heartbreaking years for Alex, who struggled in class environments that overlooked or did not understand his needs.

Finally, his world opened up when he came to Elim Christian Services. I’ve been privileged to see Alex transform into a more social and independent young man. He loves cheering on his friends and finding funny things to laugh about. He even joined our basketball, swim, track and cross country teams!

“Alex has come so far!”

said his mom. “It’s been a 180 degree turnaround. I cannot say enough good things about Elim.”

Currently, 900 children and adults who have developmental and other disabilities, like Alex, attend Elim’s school and other programs. Their future depends on God’s grace and your support. Thank you in advance for your generous support! You are helping deserving children and adults become more independent, and participate in life more fully – as God intended!
