Special Autism Issue Now Available

April is autism awareness month. Because Elim serves over 150 people who live with autsim, we thought you'd enjoy seeing how your support intersects with the needs and gifts of the autism community.
 
While Elim provides a specialized autism program in both its school and adult services, we also serve almost 100 other individuals who have autism in other areas of our programs. Here's just a few ways that Elim's services are equipping people with autism to answer God's call on their lives, which we share in the newest edition of the Equip newsletter:
 
  • This Thanksgiving, Elim’s students collected over 1,000 food items that were then distributed through Restoration Ministries Harvey House’s Box of Love program, providing needy families with a kit containing turkey, stuffing, gravy, corn bread mix, canned beans, mashed potatoes, and more.
  • This past October, Elim’s autism program hosted its 6th annual game day. Open to Elim’s students and adults with autism, over 80 individuals participated in the day’s activities.
  • Rich and Ann agreed to share their perspectives as the parents of an Elim student who lives with autism, so that you, in some way, could experience life for the family of one of Elim’s students
  • Ben frequently uses his sharp sense of humor to delight Elim’s teachers, paraprofessionals, and therapists. A three-year member of Elim’s autism program family, Ben quickly built strong relationships with Elim’s staff.
  • And Our ACTS (Autism Comprehensive Training Services) program allows Antonio to grow and flourish because of its small group size and emphasis on structure. Since joining Elim’s family in October of 2013, Antonio has come out of his shell, learning to socialize with his classmates and Elim’s staff.
