“Disabilities” is a loaded word, but it encompasses many different special needs. People with physical disabilities may need wheelchairs. People with developmental disabilities require a range of interventions. And people with learning disabilities are in your school right now. What ties them all together is the fact that they all need some level of assistance.

Elim seeks to minister to all these needs wherever God calls us, whether it’s down the street, across the country, or around the world. We know that people don’t “light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on a stand and it gives light to everyone in the house.”

That’s our response to God’s call as well. He hasn’t given us sixty years of expertise in serving people with learning and developmental disabilities so that we can keep it to ourselves.

This need for Elim’s expertise exists right now, and we are doing something about it. Since 1990, we’ve partnered with local Christian schools to share Elim’s expertise to the benefit of children with learning disabilities in mainstream schools. Today, we are beginning to impact other countries around the world, partnering with local agencies and schools to give hope to people who have often known no hope at all.
