Elim and Bethshan Join ForcesJun 16, 2008
The individuals served by Bethshan and Elim’s DT program receive extremely well integrated services due to the extraordinary cooperation between the two programs. Elim personnel serve on Bethshan’s Behavior Interventions Committee, they meet with Dr. Thomas Lee, Bethshan’s consultant Psychiatrist and they participate in both the annual Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meeting and special needs IDT meetings. Elim’s participation in these meetings insures that the persons served receive consistent programming regardless of where they are receiving services. The ongoing communication between Elim and Bethshan Qualified Mental Retardation Professionals (QMRPs) also enhances the services provided by both organizations. Monthly progress data is communicated and reviewed by both the Elim and Bethshan QMRPs. Medical information is communicated effectively by Bethshan’s nursing personnel because they provide daily medical services to the Bethshan residents at the DT program. OT/PT services are extremely well integrated because the services provided by Bethshan are mostly delivered at the day program provided by Elim. The well-integrated services are further evident by the uniformity of the Individual Service Plan (ISP). The annual ISP is utilized at both the day program and the residential program. This guarantees the persons served that they are receiving consistent treatment and training across both the day and residential program. The Behavior Intervention programs are specifically designed to address issues in both programs and the consistency of the implementation of these programs maximizes the benefit to the persons served. During past Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) the surveyors have commented very favorably on the cooperation between Bethshan and Elim when it comes to integrated services for persons served. The relationship between the two organizations reflects our mutual commitment to outstanding services to all of the individuals that we both serve. |
