Cleft Healing Home Thankful for HOPE PacksAug 13, 2008
Below is a brief update from the Cleft Healing Home, one organization benefitting from Elim’s HOPE Packs: I’m happy to report that the babies in the Cleft Healing Home are all doing very well! This month we had our first three babies graduate from our home and move into foster care in their hometowns. This obviously was a bittersweet time for us, but we know it is the goal of our program and we look forward to the day that we hear they have moved into their forever families! We have two more babies ready to move to foster care, but are having difficulty finding them foster families. We have quite a few babies from this particular orphanage so we hope to be able to find a solution to this soon. We have one baby recuperating from cleft surgery and one in hospital ready to receive her surgery. June brought us two new babies, Philip and Millie. Millie was born on June 20th (my birthday!) and came to the home on June 30th. We are so happy we are beginning to get newborns, because then we can keep them healthy from the beginning and they will receive surgery earlier. Currently we have 10 babies in the home, and all are fully sponsored! What more can one ask? We did just hear that we have 3 new babies from a new orphanage to the home potentially arriving soon – so stay tuned! I get so many wonderful photos from our home manager of the children, if you want to see more of daily life in the home, make sure to subscribe to our blog. My daughter has been updating this regularly for me, the babies are SO cute, they will surely bring a smile to your face! Sandi Glass Cleft Healing Home Coordinator Love Without Boundaries |
