Capital Campaign Nears Completion

As Elim’s Moving Beyond Capital Campaign nears completion, only a few projects remain to fulfill the vision to transform Elim’s campus into a safe oasis which best accomodate the needs of the children and adults served here. With the new Adult Services building and Autism Comprehensive Education space already in use by Elim’s staff and individuals, Elim Christian School is currently being renovated.

The school renovations will provide a significantly better learning environment for Elim’s middle school students. Eight new, larger classrooms were designed to better accomodate the physical and academic needs of these students. These rooms will be located in the area previously vacated by Elim’s administrative offices. The space not only allows for more square footage for these students but also allows room for new equipment to better serve the special needs of this group.

In addition, the new Orland Park Adult Services facility is expected to open its doors in May. This new facility will replace Elim’s rented Alsip campus. Bob Marsh, Elim’s Vice President of Mnistry Resources, explains why this new facility is so beneficial for the adults who will work there as well as Elim’s organization as a whole. “Because many of Elim’s adults live in the Orland Park area, the new facility will greatly reduce their travel times which is a significant quality-of-life increase for them. Also, because we own the new building, we were able to customize it to specifically address the physical and vocational needs of our adults. It will also save Elim a great deal of money because we will no longer need to rent a facility for these purposes.”

All of the changes occurring on Elim’s campus within the past two years have been made with one singular goal – to help the children and adults at Elim reach for their full God-given potential.
