About Elim

President’s Welcome

Welcome to Elim!

imageWelcome to Elim, an oasis for its servants, its partners, and especially for the people we serve – God’s most powerful messengers. As you enter this oasis, I trust that the fundamental characteristics about Elim’s mission will become self evident.

The motivation for Elim’s ministry comes out of a Christian worldview that proclaims each individual as a child of God with divine purpose and potential. In light of that purpose, each child and adult with disabilities that Elim serves gives glory to God through the full development of their God-given potential. This is what brings meaning to life, for all of us, no matter what our disability.

The full development of God-given potential requires a commitment to excellence. Excellence at Elim comes through both nurture and challenge. Nurture comes in the form of love which is the essence of Elim’s ministry. But by itself that is not enough. Each child and adult at Elim must also be challenged in love in order to develop to his or her God-given potential. Excellence is dependent on a competent and committed staff. Elim’s staff are trained professionals who are experts in their particular field. But by itself that is not enough. Elim’s staff is deeply committed. Their professional success is a reflection of the achievements of the children and adults they serve.

Staff are dependent on a strong and diverse support base. This base of support includes excellent facilities, committed volunteers, adequate funding, proactive governance and vibrant partners in ministry. That is where you can come in. The oasis of Elim exists not only to equip children and adults with disabilities, it exists to refresh and reinvigorate those who stop by the oasis. By God’s unique design, those who come alongside Elim’s ministry inevitably discover that they receive far more than they ever give.

My hope is that you will be refreshed and reinvigorated as you take the time to come alongside this special ministry, this oasis for children and adults with disabilities.
