Do you like 60s and 70s muscle cars, 50s and 60s classic cars, hot rods, trucks and motorcycles? Then you should come out on Saturday, June 21, 2014 to one of two great car shows that benefit Elim. Our friends at Schepel Buick/GMC/Cadillac (in Merrillville, Indiana) are hosting the 18th Annual Charity Custom Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show (from 9 am to 3 pm) to benefit Elim, and our friends at Scott's Garage are hosting their 4th annual Elim Benefit Car Show (from 10 am to 3 pm) at Elim's East Campus in Palos Heights. The Schepel automobile show is located at Schepel Buick-GMC, 3209 W. Lincoln Highway in Merrillville, IN. The day will provide time for enjoyable conversation and storytelling about vehicles in the past and memories they carry. Parents, you can take your kids down memory lane when seeing the cars you used to know so well!
Both shows promise lots of great cars, trucks, and even motorcycles. To register to show your automobile or motorcycle at the Schepel Car Show, click here to download the registration form. Through this car show, Schepel is showing its support and love for over 900 Chicago-area children and adults with disabilities. Tom VanProoyen, General Manager of Schepel views the event as, “an opportunity to gain support in Indiana for Elim, allowing clients of Elim to come out and spend time looking at the cars, trucks, and motorcycles and interacting with the other people at the show. This is all about raising money for a great cause and having a venue to interact with each other.”
Scott’s Garage has been in business for nine years now. This organization has devotedly supported and invested in its community. Through this car show, Scott’s Garage is showing its support and love for over 900 Chicago-area children and adults with disabilities. When asked about the upcoming event, Scott’s Garage co-owner Paul Iannarone said, “The day is about having fun and helping those with special needs! So, bring your families out to socialize, tell your kids about the cars and motorcycles, and enjoy the nice surroundings of the forest preserves and live DJ music. Everyone likes to talk about their cars and motorcycles!”
This is a fundraising event that both partners have chosen to hold in support of over 900 people with developmental disabilities whom Elim Christian Services equips to achieve their God-given potential. Elim provides special education for grade school and high school students as well as teach developmental skills for adults. We also offer ministry outreach programs that allow our adults to get involved and provide for children in need all over the world. We even host fundraisers and special events that allow many volunteers to help us in our mission. We at Elim believe that everyone including people with special needs play an important role in serving God and others.
